Who we are
StayGentic (StayGentic Ltd, company number 17414101, a private company registered in Wales) operates this website. For anything relating to your personal data, contact us at bookings@staygentic.co.uk.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Name and email address, when you make a booking enquiry or booking
- Check-in/check-out dates and stay details, for a booking
- Email address, and a marketing opt-in choice, if you use a property’s WiFi/guide sign-up form
- Name, email, phone number, and property location, if you enquire about listing a property with us
We do not collect or store your card details. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, our payment processor — your card information goes directly to Stripe and never passes through our servers.
How we use it
- To process and confirm bookings, and contact you about a stay
- To respond to enquiries about listing a property with us
- To send WiFi/local-guide information and, only if you opted in, occasional marketing updates
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party services to run this site:
- Stripe — payment processing for bookings
- Resend — email delivery, for forwarding property-owner enquiries to our team
We do not sell your personal data to anyone.
Cookies
This site does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. We use your browser’s local storage to remember that you’ve dismissed the cookie notice, and Stripe may set its own cookies during checkout to process your payment securely — that’s outside our control and covered by Stripe’s own privacy policy.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal data we hold about you, and get a copy of it
- Ask us to correct inaccurate data
- Ask us to delete your data, where we’re not required to keep it (e.g. for booking records)
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you think we’ve mishandled your data
